Special Announcement: Russ Robinson, the president of the ISG for 24 years has passed on. He will be greatly missed by us. I have submitted his Obituary below. KILPATRICK,JAMES (JIMMY), AKA Russ Robinson, age 95, went to be with our Lord Dec. 7, 2011. Born August 2, 1916 to George Kilpatrick andAnnie Laurie Jenkins Kilpatrick, his mother was the 1st Miss Americain 1912. He was a WWII Veteran and decorated POW having received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Five Campaign Stars. He had a radio show in high school on NBC, on which he played piano and read poetry. The show was nationally syndicated, where he accompanied Frank Sinatra 26 years, Judy Garland, Vic Damone, Diahann Carroll, Liza Minnelli and other major talents. He was also Tommy Dorsey featured pianist. He was president of the International Songwriters Guild, judge for Miss America and other beauty contests. He relocated to Orlando in 1969 to care for his mother. He still played the piano locally and through out Florida. He was National Pianist of the Year1990-1991, Official Pianist 1996 Olympic Games Atlanta, and received the Golden Clef Award. He played in over 100 motion pictures. He was a very giving and caring man and will be missed by so many. We will always love you Mr. Russ and you will be in our hearts forever. Iwill treasure our time together, caregiver- Jenny. He leaves behind lots of friends and family; William and Richard Jenkins, best friend Bob L. There are so many. He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Laurie and his cousin and childhood friend William L. JenkinsSr. There will be a viewing Monday, December 12, 2011 from 5-8PM atthe Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd.Orlando, FL. Services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10AMat the funeral home. Mr. Kilpatrick will be laid to rest beside hismother at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, FL. In lieu offlowers, donations may be made to VITAS Charitable Fund, 2201 LucienWay Suite 100, Maitland, FL 32751. Thanks to VITAS Team 191. A veryspecial thanks to his nurse Elaine Eike RN. You were so great Elaine, thanks from Jenny and Patty. We will be celebrating Mr. Russ's life after the graveside at Jenny's home. The Orlando I.S.G. has a diversified group of members consisting of; Publishers, Accomplished Songwriters (with many years of experience), Musicians (both professional/semi-pro & amateur), Vocalists, Lyricists, others who are in some way Affiliated with Songwriting (i.e.- Legal depts., Film & Theater, Radio DJ's etc.), and those who have the Desire and Passion to write songs but have little or no experience. ISG MEETINGS are held the first Sunday of each month at 5:00p.m., (unless notified otherwise through The Guild Tidings, our monthly newsletter.) The location is: 3020 E. Robinson St., Orlando, Florida. at The American Federation of Musicians Union Building. Songwriters, composers,performers, publishers, and the curious are encouraged to join us. Non-members are invited to attend a meeting or two to get a feel for our groupand what we do. Annual dues are currently $5.
